It refers to the information having several dimensions of value: as a product itself, educational, influence or trading value. The flow of information is affected by legal and socio-economic interests. It manifests itself in a number of contexts, including editorial practices, access to information, marketing of personal information, and intellectual property protection laws.

Recommended activities

Provide students with a list of appointments and ask them to identify the types of sources represented by quotations (books, chapters, newspaper articles, etc.).

Ask students to select a research article and read the articles cited in the research. Students must:

  • explain how each article relates to the original article;
  • consider under what circumstances it is appropriate to cite other documents;
  • differentiate what dating purposes are

Have students look for resources used by other students in their bibliographies. Ask them to rate the page of each of the listed works to understand the correct style and integrity of the quotations (as well as the adequacy of the sources cited).
