The School of Nurse Anesthetists of Puerto Rico (EEAPR) and the International Technical College joined the Consortium of Metropolitan Libraries (COBIMET) during the month of June. Now students, professors and administrative personnel from both universities have access to a virtual library with electronic books, magazines, educational videos, among others. This alliance includes a system of simultaneous searches and integration to the institutional authentication system. New members will also have access to an expanded collection through the virtual interlibrary loan system. Access to this service will allow users to request electronic resources from member institutions, as well as from other library systems. In addition, they will be able to benefit from trainings related to library issues, as well as training in the areas of education and technology.
The School of Nurse Anesthetists of Puerto Rico (EEAPR) offers "graduate and undergraduate nursing education programs with high quality standards to satisfy the needs for advanced level nursing services in anesthesia and to prepare competent general practitioner nurses with the fundamentals to continue studies for advanced practice.
International Technical College provides technical programs in: Electronics Technician, Networking Technician, Computer Technician, Car Audio and Alarms It also offers an Administrative Assistant Program in: Office Systems, Medical Billing, Medical Records, Social Networking, Digital Marketing and Cosmetology All their programs are approved by the PR Board of Education, now Office of Registration and Licensing, Department of State of Puerto Rico.
COBIMET is a 17-year collaboration among academic libraries that share materials, resources, servers, licenses, purchases, and even staff while maintaining themselves as independent libraries. Currently the members are: American University of Puerto Rico, Atenas College, Sor Isolina Ferré Centers, University College of San Juan, Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico, School of Nurse Anesthetists of Puerto Rico (EEAPR), International Technical College, Trinity College, Carlos Albizu University, and the Central University of Bayamón.
