Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate?

Archives in Puerto Rico that engage in digital preservation. Digital preservation is defined as the set of policies, strategies, actions, and processes designed to ensure the continued access, integrity, authenticity, and usability of digital objects over time, regardless of technological changes.

How would my organization benefit from participating in the project?

You will receive a detailed report on your institution’s current capabilities and opportunities for digital preservation. This report serves as a needs assessment for future proposals or grant applications your institution may submit. Participants may receive a stipend of $50.00 (fifty dollars).

What is the format of the interviews, and how long does each one typically last?

The types of interviews available for the evaluation are: in-person, at the records manager’s workplace, or via videoconference using Microsoft Teams, and they last approximately 1.5 hours (one and a half hours). Both options will include the presence of the Data Specialist and/or the Executive Director of COBIMET, who will serve as the evaluator.

How will the collected information be used, shared, and/or stored?

Specific details about your institution will be shared only with the interviewee and/or the records manager. COBIMET will use the data solely to generate a report on the preservation status of the institutions interviewed and will not identify or disclose individual results in that report. You can access the current published report and the informed consent form for further details.
